Denmark Opens Doors For Online Scratch Card Gamers

Starting on 1January 2012, foreign gaming companies will be allowed to operate legally in Denmark thanks to a new ruling from the European Commission regarding an attempt by Denmark to block their launch.

After dozens of complaints from gamers and gaming companies along with years of litigation in the courts, the European Commission finally ruled on Tuesday that anti-trade protectionary laws on the books in Denmark are in direct violation of the EU Treaties. Removal of these laws breaks through the barriers that prevented foreign betting services from operating legally in Denmarkuntil now. The expansion of gambling services should bring increased competition among companies and better products for gamers seeking to have scratch card fun online.
